The H. Milton Stewart School of Industrial and Systems Engineering (ISyE) is searching for a Director of Professional and Technical Communication holding the rank of Senior Academic Professional. The Director is responsible for the development and implementation of a comprehensive and dynamic professional and technical communications strategy within ISyE’s academic programs. This will include the development and delivery of programming to enhance the written and oral presentation skills of faculty and students in ISyE. Support and instruction will be offered through workshops, courses, individual and group consultations, and editorial assistance. The primary focus will be on students in the Cornerstone Design and Senior Design courses. Professional development is encouraged. Other duties may be assigned from time to time by the School Chair and Director of Student Services.
PhD degree required in English or related field. Demonstrated experience in teaching, tutoring, and working with engineering students is required, as is thorough knowledge of business/professional/technical communication conventions. Experience managing student workers is a plus.
